One Ali Akbar Mia submitted a complaint on 2.9.06 which was received by the Chief Information Commissioner on 15.9.06 stating that the P.D, DRDA, Dhubri did not give him information on the points raised by him in his petition dated 18.8.06. He wanted the following information:

1. (i) How many sittings of the Vigilance and Monitoring Committee were held during the last two years in Dhubri district?
(ii) What action were taken on the proposals adopted in these meetings relating to Mahamaya and Nayer Alga North Block?
(iii) Is it a fact that Robindra Nath Seal , (BDO Mahamaya) did not hold the meeting on some pretext to avoid exposure?
(iv) BDO alga convened a meeting on the instruction of the Chairman of the Committee but the BDO, Mahamaya did not attend on the plea of general elections although he was absent from elections?

2. (i) How many allegations were received against Robindra Nath Seal after his joining in Mahamaya block by DC/PD/SDO(C)?
(ii) How many cases were registered by police against him under what section of law and what are the present status of the cases?
(iii) What schemes were taken up during his tenure as BDO in BTAD area ( in Mahamaya block)?

On receipt of the complaint, a notice dated 22.9.06 was issued to the P.D, DRDA by the Commission but neither the P.D, DRDA nor the PIO of his office was present on that date. The Commission issued summons to the P.D, DRDA / PIO of his office on 31.10.06.

The P.D, DRDA has since been transferred. The PIO who is present has stated that he did not get the earlier notice and hence he could not attend the hearing. Today he has confirmed that the information to the complainant has been sent. The complainant too acknowledges the receipt thereof.


Decision of the Commission:

The complainant expresses his satisfaction with the information. The Commission thus concludes the hearing and treats the matter as closed.
