This proceeding is in continuation of the last order passed by this Commission on 26.10.06.

2. The complainant Ms. Anjuman Ara Begum has sent an e-mail to the Commission on 22.11.06 intimating that the PWD (Roads) has covered the pits and the man-holes in the Bhangagarh flyover area for the safety of the pedestrians. She has however mentioned that the anti social elements at times remove the concrete lids of the man-holes for which the PWD has filed FIRs with the police. She has requested the PWD through the Commission that such mischief should be prevented.

3. The Commission is happy to note that the PWD (Roads) has complied with the requirements in covering the pits and the man-holes which posed danger to the life of the pedestrians. This is a process which should continue. As the construction of the flyover progresses, there might be more pits, man-holes and other obstruction which may pose danger to the life of the pedestrians. Such eventualities should receive the prompt attention of the PWD (Roads) and corrective steps taken to prevent any mishap.

4. This case is treated as closed with these observations.
