Brief of the Case

On 16.2.07, Shri Haren Talukdar submitted a petition before the SCIC stating that he had not received information sought for from the SPIO of the SDO (c), Bajali. The information sought for by him is relating to the documents regarding the matter of Fair Price shop which was cancelled by the SDO (c), Bajali.

Submission of the Parties

The SDO (c), Bajali submitted that the petitioner applied for some information relating to the cancellation of his F.P. shop including the Essential Commodities Act. The Asstt.
Director stated that he verbally informed the petitioner that he should deposit the cost of photocopy of the documents but he did not deposit the cost. The SDO (c), Bajali stated that as it was the first case, there was a mistake on the part of the then SPIO in forwarding the petition to the Asstt. Director. However, the documents had been furnished along with the Essential Commodities Act.

Decision of the Commission

As the information has been furnished to the petitioner, the Commission has decided to condone the delay and close the case.
